We’ve recently been posting a lot about the new iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus.

We’ve been excited to see its release, and to get our hands on one too. But during this time, like a lot of you have done too, we completely took our eye off the ball and missed the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

So it only seemed fair that we take some time to look at it.

The Alpha runs on KitKat, the latest Android platform 4.4.4 and includes a lot of the aspects we’ve taken for granted in mobile handsets;

Only 7mm thick

4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display

It also features an advanced camera with real-time HDR that lets you take bright and vivid shots even in tricky lighting conditions.

The aspect that interested us the most was the battery life – something that Apple could perhaps learn from;

Ultra Power Saving Mode means the Galaxy ALPHA won’t let you down. When the battery is running low, you can make it last longer, so you won’t miss that important call or message.

How good would that be in an iPhone? The ability to save your battery at times of need – when you’ve been out all day and you’re down to the last 20%, knowing that within the hour, you’ll be essentially phone-less?

Samsung released a video about their latest handset:
